01About this policy

This explains how QuantSuite handles information when you use the website, the apps — QuantPlot, QuantRecce and QuantCrew — or the in-app feedback where available. It reflects how the product actually works today, not features that don't exist yet.

02Local-first by design

QuantPlot and QuantRecce store your projects and app data locally on your device, and work fully offline. We do not access, inspect or collect the contents of your plots, recces, notes or other locally stored projects unless you deliberately submit information to us — for example through a feedback or support feature, where available. This section does not apply to QuantCrew, which is a hosted service — see “QuantCrew is hosted” below.

In those two apps you can move your work between devices by exporting a backup file (.qplot or .qrec) and opening it on another device. Because that work lives on your device, clearing your browser or app storage, or losing the device, can remove locally stored data — so please keep your own backups of anything important.

03Optional sign-in (QuantPlot & QuantRecce)

Signing in is optional and off unless you choose it. QuantPlot and QuantRecce offer a passwordless email “magic link” sign-in so a small amount of your own reference data can follow you between your devices. If you sign in, we process your email address (only to send the link and identify your account) and store:

• QuantPlot — your fixture library only (the fixture types and custom items you build). Your plots are never uploaded.

• QuantRecce — your saved shorthand terms only. Please don't enter other people's personal details as shorthand.

If you never sign in to QuantPlot or QuantRecce, nothing leaves your device in those apps. You can sign out, and delete your account and its stored data, at any time. QuantCrew works differently — see the section below.

04QuantCrew is hosted

QuantCrew is a hosted web service, not an on-device app. It needs an account, and the productions, crews, schedules and any pay rates entered into it are stored on our servers rather than on your device. An earlier version of this policy said otherwise; that description is no longer accurate and this section replaces it.

What is held: your account e-mail address and name, your password as a cryptographic hash, the productions and organisations you belong to, and the crew names, job titles, schedules and rates that your production company enters. QuantCrew also keeps a record of significant actions — such as invitations, changes to access and exports — for security and accountability, and a change history for each production.

Where: the database is in the United Kingdom (Supabase) and the application runs in Germany (Render). Invitation and password-reset e-mails are sent through Resend. QuantCrew contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.

If your details are in QuantCrew because a production company put them there, that company decides what is held and why, and we act on its instructions. A fuller QuantCrew privacy notice is being published alongside the service.

05Hosting & security

To deliver and protect the website and apps, our hosting and database providers may briefly process standard request information: your IP address, the time of the request, the page or endpoint requested, basic browser request details, and security or abuse signals. This is ordinary server operation to run and secure the service — it is not used to profile you or monitor your behaviour.

06Local app storage

The apps use your browser's storage and local databases to save your projects, preferences, app settings and offline data, plus a small record that you've accepted this usage notice — the app, the accepted version and the date. This stays on your device unless you deliberately export it or submit it to us.

07Feedback

QuantSuite doesn't require a name, email or phone number to send feedback. Where the feature is available, we receive the message you choose to send, any attachment you deliberately add, and the selected app and category — plus only the minimum technical context needed to understand the report. A message or attachment may contain personal or production information if you choose to include it, so please add only what you're happy to share. (In-app feedback isn't live yet; this describes how it will work once added.)

08What we don't collect or do

• QuantPlot and QuantRecce don't require a name, email address or phone number — an email is used only if you choose to sign in. QuantCrew does require an account.
• We don't monitor or read the contents of your locally stored projects.
• We run no analytics and no behaviour tracking.
• We use no advertising trackers and don't profile you for advertising.
• We don't sell your personal information.
• We don't collect more information than is reasonably needed to run and secure the service.

09How we use information

• To operate, deliver and secure the website and apps.
• To provide the optional sign-in and sync you choose to use.
• To receive and review any feedback you send, and to investigate faults.
• To meet legal obligations where they apply.

10Where information is stored & processed

The website, QuantPlot and QuantRecce are hosted on Vercel, which processes the request information above to serve and secure them. If you sign in to QuantPlot or QuantRecce, your account email and the limited reference data above are stored using Supabase (our database provider), with each account's data locked to its owner. QuantCrew runs on Render (Germany) with its database on Supabase (United Kingdom), and sends its invitation and password-reset e-mails through Resend. We use only these providers to run the service, and share only what they need to do so. Fonts and assets are served from the apps themselves, not from third-party content networks.

11How long we keep it

• Data stored only on your device stays until you remove it — you control it directly.
• Account and synced data is kept while your account is active and deleted within a reasonable period after you delete it.
• Hosting and security logs follow our providers' standard retention.
• Feedback is kept only for as long as needed to review and act on it. We don't keep information indefinitely without a reason.

12Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your information, object to or restrict certain processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Because much of your data never leaves your device, we often can't identify or retrieve it — but you control it directly, and can export or clear it from within the app.

13Cookies & local storage

We use local storage and similar technology for essential purposes only — remembering your projects, preferences, offline data, your usage-notice acceptance and, if you sign in, your session. No analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

14Children

QuantSuite is a professional tool for people working in film, television and live production, and isn't directed at children.

We may update this policy and will highlight material changes. Contact details for privacy questions and for exercising your rights will be published with the final policy.
